North Yorkshire Police have received reports of young people climbing onto the roof of a building in Eggborough village. This is a matter of significant concern, as this behaviour presents a serious risk to the safety and wellbeing of those involved. There have also been reports of young people behaving in an abusive and disrespectful manner when challenged about their actions. Such behaviour amounts to anti-social behaviour, and any damage caused to the building may constitute a criminal offence. We would kindly ask parents and carers to speak with their children about the dangers and potential consequences associated with this type of risk-taking behaviour. Climbing onto roofs or other structures can result in serious injury or worse, and damage to property may lead to police involvement and further action. Should young people be encountered by police, or identified through CCTV footage or other evidence, appropriate follow-up action will be taken. If you witness any incidents of this nature, please report them to North Yorkshire Police by calling 101, or 999 if there is an immediate risk to life or a situation requiring an emergency response. Thank you for your cooperation in helping to keep young people safe and protect our local community. | ||
